• Our students deserve the resources they need to succeed, and I have consistently voted
to support our schools.
• The Select Board and the School Committee must work more closely together during the
budget process. Better coordination will help ensure that parents, students, and residents are informed as decisions are made.
• As a proud graduate of Milton Public Schools and the parent of two sons who graduated
from Tucker, Pierce, and Milton High School, I care deeply about the future of our
schools. The rigor and supports my children received they received allowed them to be successful in college and in the workforce. I want to ensure that all Milton Public School families receive the same quality of education for their children as well.
• Milton’s local businesses are essential to our community. My husband is a small business
owner, and I understand the challenges of running a business in today’s economic
climate. Our businesses bring energy to our neighborhoods and help diversify our tax
base.
• I support policies that help our existing businesses succeed while also welcoming new
businesses that fit the unique character of each Milton neighborhood.
• I also strongly support real affordable housing. Many young families, including my own
sons, would like to build their lives in Milton, but housing costs make that difficult. At the
same time, many seniors want to remain in the community they love. We must create
housing solutions that support both.
• I also support the Town of Milton purchasing the land currently occupied by Labouré
College of Healthcare. Opportunities like this are rare. The property could potentially
serve multiple community needs - from school administration to early childhood
education to athletic fields - and we should act when opportunities arise.
• Traffic and parking concerns affect residents and businesses across Milton.
• I support stronger parking enforcement in our business districts. Too often, rideshare
vehicles illegally occupy spaces meant for customers, hurting local businesses and
increasing congestion.
• I also support increased traffic-calming measures and enforcement, particularly in
residential neighborhoods experiencing speeding and cut-through traffic.
• Just as importantly, the Town should communicate regularly and clearly with residents
about traffic concerns and potential solutions.
• Milton must continue to invest in the infrastructure that keeps our community safe and
functioning.
• I support modernizing our fire stations, including rebuilding the Atherton Street Fire
Station in a way that respects its historic character.
• I also support continued maintenance and repair of our roads, with a particular focus on
addressing long-standing potholes and infrastructure issues that have been exacerbated
during this horrible winter.
• Transparency and accountability are essential to good government.
• During my previous term on the Select Board, I successfully advocated for meeting
packets to be posted online before meetings so residents could stay informed. I also
helped create a new volunteer handbook and form for town committees and
encouraged greater transparency by ensuring committee meeting minutes were publicly
available.
• I also support stronger conflict-of-interest standards for elected officials and appointed
committee members.
• Ensuring access to healthcare is critical for Milton residents.
• As a member of the Board of Health, I advocated for the State to conduct a healthcare
capacity audit to ensure that residents who need hospital inpatient beds can receive
care in a timely manner rather than waiting in emergency rooms for extended periods.
• That audit has not yet been completed. The Select Board must continue advocating for
Milton residents and push for the state to address this issue.
